To commemorate the 100 year Anniversary of the First World War and in particular early military aircraft, the Shuttleworth Trust in conjunction with IPMS Brampton Scale Model Club decided to break the record at the Shuttleworth Collection.
The aircraft model used during the attempt was the Airfix Albatross 1/72 scale D.V plastic kit which were donated by Airfix.
